In the municipal sludge treatment, the spiral centrifugal pump has played its soft conveying characteristics and can transport activated sludge without damage, so it can be widely used in the process of primary sludge, digested sludge, return activated sludge and so on.
1) Transportation of primary sludge and digested sludge
Screw centrifugal pump has good non-blocking performance and can transport medium with high solid content, which well solves a series of problems such as blockage, abrasion and inability to transport caused by high solid content and high viscosity of primary sedimentation and digested sludge. Ordinary centrifugal pump cannot normally and stably transport primary sedimentation sludge and digested sludge with high solid content and high viscosity. Although the positive displacement pump (such as screw pump) can be transported normally, due to the wear of impurities in the sludge on the stator and rotor, the stator and rotor of the screw pump fail too quickly, the maintenance cost is very high, and the screw pump adopts spiral thrust transportation, which has extremely low efficiency, high energy consumption and high operating cost.
2) Transportation of return sludge
In most of the domestic sewage treatment plants, the activated sludge treatment process using microorganisms for sewage treatment is widely used. In this process, the spherical bacteria micelles (flocs) formed by bacteria bonding are the main components in the activated sludge aeration tank. The dissolved pollutants in the sewage can be smoothly close to the bacteria to be preyed on, while the colloidal pollutants must be adsorbed on the surface of the bacteria micelles (flocs) first, and then gradually moved around the bacteria in the flocs, after the colloidal pollutants are hydrolyzed into small molecules of soluble substances by bacteria, they can be decomposed together with other soluble pollutants. Therefore, in this process, the sludge is quantitatively returned from the final sedimentation tank to the aeration tank, which can effectively shorten the culture time of microorganisms. In order to achieve this goal, in the activated sludge return, only as far as possible not to break the activated sludge in the microbial micelle, so that the aeration tank quickly reach the effective concentration of microorganisms, in order to improve the efficiency and speed of sewage treatment, otherwise, the treatment effect will be seriously affected. The spiral centrifugal pump has significant advantages in the reflux activated sludge process. Its unique impeller design, low head, large flow and low speed characteristics, are not easy to break the activated sludge flocs, and will not be blocked, ensuring the activity of the reflux sludge, improving the treatment efficiency, the characteristics of the sludge flocs almost unchanged, and the structure remains basically intact. The sudden turn of 90 degrees in the process of centrifugal pump transportation is easy to cause obvious collision, which makes the floc body seriously damaged.
